Notice of Tax Revenue Increase

The EL PASO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT #1 conducted public hearings on August 18, 2016 and August 25, 2016 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the EL PASO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT #1 from the properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 0.002647%.

The total tax revenue to be raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.099959 for each $100 of taxable value was $1,880,106.

The total revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.10 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $1,927,439.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.10 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax toll this year, is $2,033,198.

The EL PASO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT # 1 is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 1, 2016 at Nunda Ave., Horizon City, TX 79928 at 6:30p.m.

The EL PASO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT # 1 proposes to use the increase in total tax revenue for the pupose of Maintenance, Operations, and Capital Improvements for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year.


Horizon Firefighters News:



Horizon Firefighters battle blaze in house on Saturday February 20th afternoon.

 Neighbors called in smoke coming from a/c unit and once units arrived on scene. They found heavy smoke and fire in the kitchen. It took FF's 12 minutes to place the fire under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

                



The Horizon City Fire Department is currently operating out of a single station located at 14151 Nunda Dr. in central Horizon City. With the explosion of growth in Horizon City and the surrounding area, it will soon become necessary to build satellite stations in the surrounding 150+ square miles of territory for which we are responsible. We are able to do this with an entirely volunteer department. The men and women who volunteer countless hours for the safety of the people and property in the Horizon City area deserve the gratitude of the residents, If you see them, take some time thank them.
